Privacy Policy
How PodShorts collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects your information.
Last updated: 26 July 20261. Who operates PodShorts
PodShorts is operated by Bhargava Ganti in India. This policy applies to the PodShorts website, mobile applications, browser integrations, sharing tools, email capture features, and related services (together, the “Service”).
For privacy questions or requests, contact hello@podshorts.in.
2. Information we collect
- Account data, such as your name, email address, authentication provider, profile details, and account identifiers.
- Content you choose to save, including links, webpages, documents, images, audio, video references, notes, transcripts, extracted text, summaries, tags, embeddings, and your prompts or conversations with PodShorts.
- Technical and usage data, such as device and browser type, IP-derived information, app version, referral information, feature interactions, diagnostics, crash data, and session events.
- Communications you send us, including support, privacy, deletion, and copyright requests.
- Subscription and transaction status when paid plans become available. Payment card details will be handled by the selected payment processor rather than stored directly by PodShorts.
3. How we use information
- Provide capture, transcription, summarization, tagging, semantic search, retrieval, recommendations, and other requested AI features.
- Authenticate users, synchronize memories across devices, prevent duplicate content, and maintain account security.
- Operate, debug, measure, and improve the Service, including evaluating prompt and model quality.
- Send essential account and service communications and, with any consent required by law, product updates or learning digests.
- Detect abuse, enforce our terms, comply with law, and protect users, PodShorts, and others.
4. AI processing
Content submitted to PodShorts may be sent to AI providers to generate transcripts, summaries, topics, embeddings, answers, and other requested outputs. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading and should be verified before important use.
PodShorts currently uses Google Gemini for AI processing and Langfuse for prompt management, quality evaluation, and tracing. Traces may contain prompts, model responses, identifiers, token usage, latency, and error information. We aim to minimize unnecessary personal data in observability records.
5. Service providers and disclosures
We use vendors acting on our behalf to provide infrastructure and operational services. Current providers include Supabase for authentication, database and storage; Vercel for web hosting; Google for Gemini AI processing; Langfuse for AI observability and prompt management; PostHog for product analytics and session replay; Brevo for transactional email; and Expo/EAS for mobile build and delivery infrastructure.
We may disclose information when required by law, to investigate fraud or security incidents, during a business reorganization or acquisition, or with your direction or consent. We do not sell personal information for money.
6. Analytics and session replay
PodShorts uses PostHog to understand feature usage and improve reliability. On supported web surfaces, session replay may record interface interactions. Sensitive fields should be masked, and replay is not intended to capture passwords, payment details, or the full private contents of saved memories. You may use browser privacy controls and applicable consent controls to limit non-essential analytics.
7. Legal grounds and consent
Depending on where you live, we process data to perform our contract with you, pursue legitimate interests such as security and product improvement, comply with legal obligations, and act on your consent where required. You may withdraw consent for future processing, but this does not affect processing already completed lawfully.
8. Retention
We retain account information and saved content while your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Operational logs, backups, security records, and legally required records may be retained for a limited additional period. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer reasonably necessary, subject to legal, fraud-prevention, dispute, and backup requirements.
9. Security and international transfers
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls and database row-level security. No system is completely secure. Providers may process data in countries other than yours; where required, we use appropriate contractual or legal transfer mechanisms.
10. Your choices and rights
Submit requests to hello@podshorts.in. We may verify your identity and may decline or limit a request where permitted by law. See our Account Deletion page for deletion instructions.
- Access, correct, export, or delete eligible personal data.
- Withdraw consent or object to certain processing where applicable.
- Unsubscribe from non-essential email using the message link or by contacting us.
- Complain to an applicable data-protection authority and nominate another person to exercise rights where applicable under Indian law.
11. Children
PodShorts is not directed to children under 13. If local law requires a higher age for independent consent, users below that age may use the Service only with valid parent or guardian authorization. Contact us if you believe a child provided personal data without appropriate authorization.
12. Third-party content and changes
Saved links and content may originate from third-party services with their own privacy practices. This policy does not govern those services. We may update this policy as the product, providers, or law changes. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or another appropriate channel.
